Tor des Géants, the race is in full swing
The fifth edition of the Tor des Géant, the great endurance trail race across the 4000m peaks in Italy's Valle d'Aosta, is currently in full swing.

                                                            They set off from Italy's Courmayeur last Sunday. 738 of them and, in the end, they will have raced 330km, past 24,000 elevation gain. We're obviously talking abut the athletes currently taking part in the  Tor des Géant. The huge race from Courmayeur via all the giant 4000m peaks in the Aosta valley. An epic competition, played out and raced out at altitude.
                    The Tor is an adventure without any rests whatsoever, currently led by France's Lionel Trivel, followed by Antoine Guillon and Franco Collè. Talented Francesca Canepa, winner of 2013 edition, has been disqualified for failing to pass the checkpoint at Les Goilles (Cogne). Last year, the men's competition was won by Iker Karrera who crossed the finish line at Courmayeur in 70h 04 '15 ". These are decisive hours for the competition...
