Chabot and Sarkany win in Singapore
Alexandre Chabot and Muriel Sarkany win the fifth stage of the World Cup Difficulty 2002 in Singapore
| Alexandre Chabot once again. For the fifth time running the young Frenchman climbed to victory, quashing all remaining doubts about his complete domination of the World Cup 2002. The circuit restarted in far-away Singapore last weekend, and while Chabot proved unbeatable, Flavio Crespi from Italy produced his best ever performance to place second, ahead of reigning World Champion Gérome Pouvreau, third. Muriel Sarkany brushed aside her delusion after Lecco and, above all, the European Cup in Chamonix, by winning in Asia. Sandrine Levet continued her startling form to place second, ahead of her team-mate Emilie Pouget, third. The next stage of the World Cup Difficulty will be held in Aprica, Italy at the start of October, but in the meantime all attention shifts to the much-awaited Rock Master; will the "veterans" (read François Legrand, François Petit, Cristian Brenna, Dino Lagni et al) will be able to contend with the new generation? September holds the key. World Cup Difficulty 2002 > Bolzano > Yekaterinburg > Imst > Lecco European Championship 2002 > Difficulty > Bouldering
