"It's a very scenic place to have a head injury, that’s for sure!" It’s with typical British humour that Paul Pritchard sums up the fateful day in 1998 that changed his life completely. For bad, but above all as he likes to point out, for good. Last week the English climber talked extensively to planetmountain.com about his return to the Totem Pole, the wildly beautiful sea stack in Tasmania where the famous accident occurred and a documentary featuring this story is now in the pipeline, for which a crowdfunding campaign has been launched. The trailer only lasts a few seconds but Pritchard is clearly right: the place really is very… scenic.

On April 4, 2016 British climber Paul Pritchard summited the Totem Pole, the amazing obelisk in Tasmania where he suffered a nigh fatal fall in 1998. As a result of that incident Pritchard was left partially paralysed and now, 18 years later, his ascent celebrates a conquest and circle that has now been closed.
