Mateusz Haladaj repeating Martin Krpan 9a at Misja Pec, Slovenia.
Mateusz Haladaj has recently managed to redpoint one of the reference routes in Slovenia's Misja Pec, Martin Krpan, bringing Haladaj's tally of 9as to three, after Bernhard Fiedler's Erfolg ist Trainierbar at the Adlitzgraben in Austria and Dani Andrada's Los Inconformistas in Rodellar,Spain
Three years ago the 25-year-old also managed to send Biographie, the famous first 2/3 of Realization bolted at the end of the '80's by Jean Christophe Lafaille, and then freed in 1996 by Arnaud Petit who graded it 8c+. The rest is recent history: in 2001 Chris Sharma climbed the line to the top of the crag creating the world's reference 9a+, the one which captured the immagination of all sport climbers. Will this perhaps be Haladaj's next objective?
