| The latest news about Jean-Christophe Lafaille place him acclimatising and preparing the camps along the south face of Annapurna. On Thursday 25 April the French Mountain Guide reached 7000m before descending to Camp 2 (6550m) where he spent the night. Weather conditions at present are fairly good but the high winds and the ritual ascending and descending, necessary for acclimatising properly, is proving to be monotonous. Weather conditions permitting he plans to spend a night at Camp 3 at 7200m before returning to Base Camp to prepare for the first true bids for the summit at 8091m. ![]() > J. C.
