Subconscia - Val di San Vito
Subconscia is a spectacular mixed climb in the Marmarole range in the Belluno Dolomites. It is a a stunning, isolated line in the heart of the face, opened in traditional style using pegs, ice screws and a trad rack.
From the Somadida forest up through Valle di San Vito along path #226. (3 hours)
ItineraryP1: Thin, slabby ice flow (WI4), then easy slope. Belay on a chockstone, 60m.
P2: Thin pillar (WI4), then right onto rock using cams (AO), then a short wall to climb (IV). Belay on 1 piton (to be backed up), 40m.
P3: Traverse left (WI3). Belay on 2 pitons, 15m.
P4: Right onto rock (A2), then a thin, difficult-to-protect icicle (WI6). Belay on 2 pitons, 30m.
P5: Left onto a large vertical icicle (WI5+), then easier (WI4). Belay on 1 piton (to be backed up), 55m.
P6: Mixed (M4). Belay on a boulder, 55m.
P7: Easy transfer, 30m.
P8: Ice flow (WI4). Belay on ice, 35m.
P9: Ice steps (WI4). Belay on a boulder, 35m.
