At the Medical Meeting of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) in Lausanne, Switzerland, the International Federation of Sport Climbing presented the Federation’s pioneering work on Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs). To protect the health of its athletes the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) has introduced comprehensive regulations related to Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs). The new policy will take effect from 15 February 2024.

The Executive Board of the IFSC has approved to start a process for the reinstatement of Russian and Belarusian athletes as neutral athletes, starting from 2024. The suspension of the Climbing Federation of Russia and Belarus Alpine Federation remains in place.

In the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the International Federation of Sport Climbing has officially suspended the first stages of the Speed and Boulder World Cup 2022, originally scheduled to take place from 1 to 3 April 2022 in Moscow. Published below is the official IFSC press release.
