Spectacular hike to the summit of the Stromboli volcano! The walk mustn’t be underestimated by any means! The 900 meters altitude gain, the wind, fog, sand you sink in and the volcanic gases render this hike a real adventure just a stone’s throw from the sea. Even if those used to walking in the mountains might consider this an easy outing, you can only walk up the volcano accompanied by guides.
Getting there
Reach the island of Stromboli in the Aeolian Islands in Sicily by boat. Either from Milazzo or Naples. Descent
Descend down the other side of the mountain, past marvellous snad slopes that make the descent easy and fun. Gear
Hiking boots are obligatory (gym shoes not permitted), water, windproof jacket and headlamp. The agency provides helemt, a mask for those who wear contact lenses or if its winder, a mask to protect against the dust. The agency rents walking boots, socks and headtorch. Notes
I recommend the agency  “Il vulcano a piedi", lcoated next to the port, behind the bar Blu notte. Trust me, you can't miss it.
