Route

An interesting route to the left of the Lequarci waterfall near Ulassai, the highest in Sardinia. Unfortunately, the quality of the limestone is very poor.

Getting there

From Ulassai, follow the road towards the Sanctuary of Santa Barbara until you are below the waterfall, located on the right just before the Sanctuary. Park just past the bridge.

Access

Walk up into the woods and, over rough terrain, make your way to the base of the overhanging amphitheater (15/20 minutes).

Itinerary

P1: Start to the left of the waterfall via a short crack, then a difficult crack leads to the belay ledge, 6b, 30m.

P2: Continue traversing right, overcome a small corner, then return left on delicate rock, 6a, 15m.

P3: Climb a more difficult section, then a nice small corner to the belay, 6a+, 15m.

P4: Continue with an exposed traverse to the right onto a narrow step next to the waterfall, 6a+, 20m.

P5: Tackle the final wall with an arcing pitch, first to the right and then to the left, 6a+, 25m.

Descent

Two abseils

Gear

12 quickdraws, helmet, slings, two 60m ropes.
