Abbronzatissima on Monte Fop in Val di Franzedaz is a technical and elegant route where balance, precision, and a cool head matter more than strength. It’s a climb that feels more like the Rätikon than the classic Dolomites.
From the motorwayA22 Modena–Brennero: exit at Ora (BZ); drive throug Val di Fiemme to Predazzo, then continue throug Val di Fassa to Canazei. Continue up to the Fedaia Pass and, after crossing the pass, descend to Malga Ciapela.
From Val Cordevole: from Agordo, continue through Cencenighe, Alleghe, and Caprile; then, shortly thereafter, take the Passo Fedaia road to reach Malga Ciapela.
From the Malga Ciapela campsite, head toward Val Ombretta along the forest road. After a few switchbacks, keep left and follow the signs for Val Franzedaz (CAI Trail No. 689). Once you reach the area near the Malga, you’ll see the route on the right. The route starts a few meters to the left of the 60° Val Pettorina. Approach time: 1 hour. It is possibile to ride an e-bike almost all the way to the base of the climb.
