ASTRA is the lightweight and durable ice axe for glacier travel and mountaineering designed by CLIMBING TECHNOLOGY. It features an ergonomic stainless steel head and a straight light alloy handle both with a differentiated finish.

The design of the head of the ASTRA is characterized by a specific placement for the hand and reduced thickness of the central section to enable an optimal grip both when climbing up and down. The blade is lightweight and serrated and designed for excellent penetration into hard snow; the strong adze has been designed for efficient cutting of steps while the end part of the handle has a rougher finish for a better grip during use.

The ASTRA is assembled with the new bonded technology to improve the weight and increase the waterproofness; made of stainless steel and anodized light alloy to prevent oxidation. It has a stainless steel spike equipped with a hole for a carabiner or a sling as well as a pictogram on the handle to indicate the correct connection point for use as an anchor.

The ASTRA is available in the following lengths: 50 – 60 – 70 cm, with or without the classic DRAG-TOUR dragonne.

Weight: 500 g (60 cm length)
