Kjerrskredkvelven icefall and the climb by Matthias Scherer and Tanja Schmitt

On 20 February 2013 Matthias Scherer and Tanja Schmitt repeated Kjerrskredkvelven, the enormous icefall that winds its way for more than 1000m up the Gudvangen valley in Norway. This drip was first ascended by Marius Olsen and rarely comes into conditions and so, seizing the moment, the two German alpinists set off at 7:00am and reached the summit at 20:30 during one of the coldest days of the year.
