Route

A modern bolt route first ascended from the ground which climbs the smooth slabs of the tower. The route ascends a compact vertical rock face and offers great mid-grade climbing. Given the route's difficulty, the bolts and beauty, Nikibi is destined to become a modern classic up this mountain.

Getting there

Passo Giau is reached easily either from Cortina via the SS48 and SS638, or from Caprile for those coming from the Agordino.

Access

Drive towards Passo Giau from Cortina and park the car on the left next to the sign for "Muraglia di Giau". Continue on foot towards the tower, follwoing tree markers (path no. 436 for Forcella Giau). Allow 35 mins for the walk-in.

Descent

Descend easily down the gully indicated in the drawing. 15 mins to the base of the routes

Gear

The route is equipped with bolts, a rope and 12 quickdraws suffice.

Via bella e divertente. Più corta di 300 metri e con obbligatorio di 6a, non 6b+. Chiodata molto bene. Avvicinamento fiabesco Confermo sosta alla base del tiro chiave su un solo fix. Discesa a piedi riporta esattamente sotto la base della parete, potete lasciare gli zaini giù.

La sosta alla fine del tiro di V+ non c'è piu'(saltata?). Facilmente fattibile su Friend e spit o rinviando con un po di accortezza le corde si puo' salire direttamente alla sosta del tiro successivo.

Complimenti a Dibona pe raver tracciato una via logica e ben protetta,su roccia ecezzionale.Lelunghezze dei tiri, divertenti, proposti in questa relazione non sono molto reali.In ogni caso merita una ripetizione.
