After receiving ten awards for best film at mountain festivals, “The Future of Climbing,” directed by Guillaume Broust and distributed by L’endroit films, is now available on Karpos’ Youtube channel.
It’s not just another behind-the-scenes look at a route or a vlog showing a typical day in the life of Cedric Lachat, the protagonist and narrator.
The movie presents different points of view in a virtual roundtable discussion between athletes, professionals, and representatives of local organizations.
Cedric Lachat explores the challenges facing the world’s most iconic climbing walls—from overcrowding to the environmental damage caused by climbers—in an unfiltered and sharply ironic manner. And then there’s indoor climbing, which after the boom of gyms from the 90s offers infinite technical possibilities and new rules to the game.
