Madonna della Rota
Madonna della Rota is a splendid little crag well worth a visit located high above Lago d'Iseo in northern Italy. The main sector is just off vertical and presents technical stamina climbing, while further to the right the angle eases off and the routes become somewhat easier. The crag is ideal for families thanks to the large green meadow at the base and offers a fantastic view down onto the lake.
GETTING THERE
From Brescia take the Sp 510 north towards Lago d'Iseo to Marone, then turn off right for Zone. Reach the bar Belvedere located in a hairpin bend after 3km, continue for another 1.5km to turn off right (small wooden signpost Rifugio Croce di Marone). Follow this narrow road up for another 2km until the crag springs into view, park 200m further up in the car park on the left close to the church. Do not park beneath the crag.
THE CLIMBING
Technical slab climbing on small edges. All route names are written at the base of the crag.
FOOD AND ACCOMODATION
There is some accommodation in nearby Zone.
