Located at about 1700 meters, the Geierwand crag provides a splendid view down onto lake Dürrensee and the Höhlensteintal. The first climbs were bolted by Cortina-based climber Massimo da Pozzo, I then bolted the others. The yellow Dolomite limestone hosts athletic climbs up to 35 m high from 4a to 8c, and climbing is possible almost all year round, even in bad weather as the crag remains dry after extended periods of rain. A visit here is highly recommended, even during the Dolorock Climbing Festival and despite the steep and a somewhat tiring approach.
