Route
Sentiero dei Troll resembles an iced gully and is a classic icefall in the famous Valnontey valley.
Getting there
From the Aosta West motorway exit drive through Cogne and continue to Valnontey. Park at the end of the road. Access
From Valnontey follow the the cross country piste to the second bridge. Cross this (hydrographic left) and then continue up to the obvious chimney/gully which marks the start of the first pitch. Walk-in: 30 mins Descent
The belays are equipped with 10 mm bolts, chain and maillon rapide. 60m ropes recommended. Gear
Normal ice climbing gear. Notes
Beware of unstable snow conditions.
