Arco Rock Legends: Mike Kosterlitz, Margo Hayes and Janja Garnbret win in 2017

On Friday 25/08/2017 the 12th edition of Arco Rock Legends took place in Arco, Italy. Scottish climber and Nobel Prize in Physics laureate Mike Kosterlitz received the Climbing Ambassador by Dryarn® di Aquafil award. America's Margo Hayes won the Wild Country Rock Award, while Slovenia's Janja Garnbret won the La Sportiva Competition Award.The other nominees were Adam Ondra, Stefano Ghisolfi, Domen Škofic and Shauna Coxsey.

New Tsaranoro climb in Madagascar by Italian Ragni di Lecco

In July 2017 the Italian climbers Matteo de Zaiacomo, Dimitri Anghileri and Marco Maggioni belonging to the Ragni di lecco climbing club made the first ascent of Rivotra Mahery (strong wind) a new 700 meter rock climb with difficulties up to 8a+ on Tsaranoro Atsimo in Madagascar.

Mike Kosterlitz in Arco for the Climbing Ambassador

On Friday 25 August at Arco, Italy, Mike Kosterlitz will be the special guest of the 12th Arco Rock Legends, the sport climbing Oscars. The climber and Nobel Prize in Physics laureate will receive the Climbing Ambassador by Dryarn® di Aquafil. The candidates for the Wild Country Rock Award are Stefano Ghisolfi (Ita), Margo Hayes (USA) and Adam Ondra (Cze), while Shauna Coxsey (GB), Janja Garnbret (Slo) and Domen Škofič (Slo) are the nominees of the La Sportiva Competition Award.

New Spanish climbs on Norway's Lofoten Islands

Between 2016 and 2017 a series of new rock climbs were first ascended on the Lofoten Islands, Norway, by the Spanish climbers Guille Cuadrado, Gerber Cucurell, Pau Gómez, Jordi Esteve and Felix Queipo established up peaks Marklitinden, Storskiva, Merraflestinden and Moltbaertinden.

Shauna Coxsey, Jongwon Chon win Bouldering World Cup 2017, Stasa Gejo, Jan Hojer crowned European Champions

The last stage of the Boulder World Cup 2017 was won on Saturday by Germany’s Jan Hojer and Slovenia’s Janja Garnbret. Britain’s Shauna Coxsey and South Korea’s Jongwon Chon won the overall Bouldering World Cup 2017, while the European Championship was won by Serbia’s Stasa Gejo and Jan Hojer. All the results.
