The finishing line was crossed this morning at 9:49 by Franco Collé, the runner form Valle d'Aosta who in doing so won the fifth Tor des Géants 2014. Collé neede just 71 hours and 49 minutes to win his first Tor, made possible thanks above all to his amazing comeback and accelleration at the Valtouranche checkpoint. Collé shaved 16 minutes off his personal best, set last year when he finished third behind Iker Karrera and Oscar Perez.

The Tor obviously continues at breakneck speed for all the other athletes in the race. In the next few hours the finishing line at Courmayeur should be reached by America's Nichademus Hollon, Antoine Guillone, Christophe LeSaux and Lionel Trivel who are battling hard for second and third place.

In the women's race, after the disqualification of race leader Francesca Canapa, currently it is France's Emilie Lecomte who comfortably leads the pack (at present she's 9th overall), followed by Lisa Borzani and Denise Zimmermann.
