Cristian Brenna at the Gorge du Tarn

Cristian Brenna on-sighted 'Priez pour nous' 8b, "Rasta vaut rien" 8a+/b, "Moule frites" 8a, "La banda de rulos" 8a, and "La nouvelle plantation du Christ" 8a at the Gorge du Tarn, France

Cristian Brenna continues to on-sight hard routes with impressive ease.
He spent his Easter holiday climbing with friends at the beautiful French Gorge du Tarn, located about 30km for Millau. Although fairly cold and windy, the conditions for climbing hard routes on these steep pocketed walls were excellent – Cristian returned home with a bunch of hard routes under his belt and some fond memories. This is what he has to say:

"The best "souvenir" was my on-sight of "Priez pour nous", a 55m route at sector Tennesse. Stamina is required for the first 35m, which follow a line of pockets through a large overhanging bulge to a rest. The second 20m section starts from here and is comprised of three boulder problems (each followed by good rests) where you have to get the moves right first time round. The route is graded 8b – I feel it could be slighlty easier, but when you manage to on-sight a route it’s always hard to give things the right grade.
I also on-sighted the explosive 15m long "Rasta vaut rien" 8a+/b, the technical and vertical "Moule frites" 8a, "La banda de rulos" 8a and "La nouvelle plantation du Christ" another 50m 8a. That’s all. Bye."
