Spina de Mul, new rock climb up Col Becchei by Gargitter and Kehrer
The two South Tyrolean mountain guides Simon Kehrer and Helmut Gargitter introduce their route Spina de Mul (185m, 7c max, 7a obl.) first climbed in June 2012 up the south face of Col Becchei (Dolomites).
After Simon Kehrer's triple proposal last year to discover the south face of Col Bechei (Fanes-Sennes-Braies, Dolomites) via his routes La Raieta (190m, V+ A0 (VI), Ey de Net (200m, VI+ (7a A0) and La Salvana (190m, VI+/V one section VII-), the South Tyrolean guide now introduces another new route put up with his colleague Helmut Gargitter. Spina de Mul is, according to Kehrer "a dream route, difficult, up excellent rock."
SPINA DE MUL by Simon Kehrer
Summer 2012, along with my tireless friend Helmut Gargitter, a talented alpinist and strong mountain guide, we've managed to establish another difficult route up the outstanding south face of Col Bechei.
The route is located on the righthand side and follows a series of obvious pockets up almost always solid, rough rock. We have equipped the route with bolts but we recommend you nevertheless take a set friends and nuts.
You can either abseil off the route if you want to repeat another line nearby, or walk off easily down the alpine meadows, along the path that leads to Lake Limo and on to Rifugio Fanes.
