Herbstzeitlose first ascent by Ines Papert and Stephan Siegrist on Mittaghörnli, Switzerland

On 07/10/2007 Stephan Siegrist and Ines Papert carried out the first free ascent of Herbstzeitlose (max 7c), on the S. Face of the Mittaghörnli (P.ta Signal), Bernese Oberland, Switzerland.

On 07/10/2007 Stephan Siegrist from Switzerland and Ines Papert from Germany teamed up to make the first free ascent of the 10 pitch 'Herbstzeitlose' on the South Face of Punta Signal on the Mittaghörnli in Switzerland's Bernese Oberland.

The route had been initiated in 1996 by Siegrist himself and Chrigu Zwalen, but abandoned and subsequently forgotten, until this September when Siegrist and Papert travelled to the Mittaghörnli laden with gear to complete the final four pitches. Making use of this fabulous pre-winter weather, the duo redpointed their "autumn crocus" in perfect solitude on Sunday 7 October.
