How rounded can an arête be? A lot, extremely rounded if it's like the one on Reservoir Dogs. Like the film by Quentin Tarantino which inspired the name, this route has become a classic gritstone route and is considered one of the most beautiful in Northern England's Yorkshire, on a par with The New Statesman and Loaded with which it forms the "Yorkshire arête trilogy".

Reservoir Dogs was freed by Robin Barker and repeated by John Dunne and Nick Clements but then a crucial crux pebble broke. Showing us how to hold the arete, how to pinch that feared sloper, is seven times British bouldering champion Gaz Parry who in 2008 managed to repeat this route in its new state. The video clip is out now.
