Snowboard Classic, Cortina, the results

Marco Huser and Claudia Haesurmann win Snowboardcross, Barbara Sponsale and Andreas Prommegger win the Giant Slalom of the first stage of the Tour della Gazzetta Snowboard Classic.
The first stage of the Tour della Gazzetta Snowboard Classic 2002 took place in Cortina last Saturday and Sunday. 194 riders took part in this two day event, which now moves on to Pozza di Fassa in Trentino at the start of January.

Marco Huser from Switzerland won the Snowboardcross, ahead of Hans Jorg Unterrainer (Austria) and David Speiser (Germany). Claudia Haesurmann won the women's event. Sunday's Giant Slalom was won by the local Barbara Sponsale, ahead of Perrine Buehler from Switzerland and Evelin Maier from Austria. Andreas Prommegger won the men's event, while the Italians Meinhard Erlacher and Rudy Galli placed second and third respectively.
