Core and Levet European Bouldering Champions in Chamonix
Christian Core and Sandrine Levet win the first European Bouldering Championship in Chamonix 2002
Christian Core from Italy won yesterday's first-ever European Bouldering Championship in Chamonix, ahead of his team-mate and current World Champion Mauro Calibani, second. Core and Calibani were the only two athletes to top out on 4 of the 6 boulder problems in the Final, and were separated only by the number of attempts needed to send the problems. Salavat Rakhmetov from Russia placed third. Sandrine Levet from France remains invincible by topping out on 5 boulders, confirming her status as one of the best athletes of all times, in both the Bouldering and Difficulty disciplines. Her team-mate Fanny Rogeaux placed second, ahead of Kotasavo Vera from the Czech Republic third. The Difficulty European Championship gets underway today. > Calendar European Championship 2002 Info > www.digitalROCK > Lecco World Cup 2002 > World Championship Winterthur 2001 > European Championship Munich 2000 |
