Salewa Rockshow 2013, grand final at Bolzano

The winners of the fifth Salewa Rockshow will be decided on 18 July 2013 as the best climbers from all 8 participating nations compete at the Salewa Cube in Bolzano. Not only the "Climber of the Tour" title is up for grabs, but also a week of extraordinary climbing and a new Salewa People contract.

It all began with Rockcalling, the qualification rounds that took place from March to June in Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, the Czech Republic and even as far away as China and South Korea. Each country also staged an event outdoors at their most famous crags and the winners of each Calling round had the chance to win the "Climber of the Day" title and win a ticket for final in Bolzano.

The Dolomites in Italy's South Tyrol hosted the Italian final and it is in this paradise that Salewa has its headquarters. This last stage started here, with a guided tour, a barbecue on the terrace followed by a night spent in tents outside the Salewa Cube. The next day all participants bouldered in the Dolomites, more precisely at the spectacular Città dei Sassi (Steinerne Stadt), on three different walls with a breathtaking view. Danilo Marchionne (1987) from Pescara and Matilda Segui (2000) from Turin won thanks to their skill and determination and in doing qualified for the grand final. On Thursday 18 July the winners of each country will gather for the final that will be held, for the first time ever, at the new Salewa headquarters in Bolzano.

A climbing paradise
To become "Climber of the Tour" the finalists have to climb with strength, skill and style in front of numerous spectators and a panel of experts. The best will win an unforgettable week-long trip to a dream destination that will be revealed during the awards ceremony. Accompanied by mountain guides, the winners will discover endless routes and perhaps even establish some new lines. But there's more, as the best will also receive a "Salewa People" contract.

Open Day at the Salewa headquarters in Bolzano
During the Salewa Rockshow 2013 the headquarters will open their doors and everyone is invited to climb at Salewa Cube free of charge, as well as test the via ferrata kit or do some slack lining. Those interested can go on a guided tour through the extraordinary corporate headquarters. The day then comes to an end with an evening concert and delicious barbecue: all participants, guests and athletes will hang out together. Furthermore, all visitors can take advantage of a free shuttle bus from 15.00 to 21.00 from and to Bolzano.

Above and below the table
While the BBQ sizzles away don't miss out on the fun Table Boulder game, watched attentively by the likes of Roger Schäli and Rustam Gelmanov. It's a fun way to practice bouldering using a table, trying different moves without ever touching the ground; strength, technique and coordination are fundamental!
