Route

An extremely popular mid-grade route. It initially follows the large corner at the base of the arête, then continues up slightly to the left of the arête, before moving right to avoid the roofs. This traverse and corner above constitute the crux. The first pitch is difficult, too, but can be avoided by climbing an easier variation to the left. From the large ledge the route continues first left, then right onto the arête before reaching the top via a series of chimneys.

Getting there
Drive to Rifugio Dibona, at the foot of the Tofana di Rozes. This is reached from Cotina by driving towards Passo Falzarego, past Pocol and few hairpin bends, and turning off right up onto the dirt track following signs for the refuge. Access
Start in the corner at the base of the arête. From the rifugio Dibona walk to the arête, situated before the Pilastro. Allow about 30 minutes for the walk-in. Descent
Traverse along the ledge towards the Punta Marietta and then walk down the scree and ledges to the base of the buttress, and then walk around this on exposed terrain. Now descend past huge boulders to the rifugio Giussani. Gear
Bring a set of wires, friends and threads.

05/07/2015 La via ha tutte le soste attrezzate a spit ma in questo modo prevede tiri più lunghi dell'originale. Consiglio di allungare i tiri finchè non si trovano gli spit, visto che ci sono. La discesa è stata interessata da una frana nel 2011 ma attualmente(non so da quanto) è percorribile con il medesimo percorso dell'originale, grazie a dei resinati che assicurano i tratti esposti. Perciò non fatevi fuorviare dai segni rossi che salgono verso Punta Marietta che non sono stati cancellati e che possono facilmente trarre in inganno. Lo scrivo perchè non ho trovato nessun commento sul ripristino, mentre sono in rete ancora tutte le vecchie notizie.

Linea bella su roccia ottima. Il tiro più delicato è il diedro dopo la traversata che porta a destra dello spigolo, anche perché, come ormai noto, la roccia vi è ben poco abrasiva. Il diedro iniziale invece (che non dovrebbe far parte della via originale) è bello e di soddisfazione. Posto sempre maestoso, con vista ravvicinata su chi fa il vicino Pilastro di Rozes.

Bella via di soddisfazione, roccia ottima, tranne il diedrino dopo la prima cengia dopo il traverso a dx, lo danno di 5° ma è lucido e quindi diventa il passaggio più impegnativo della via. Molto bello il diedro iniziale nel secondo tiro, 5° e un tratto di 5°+, ben protetto (anche se ho letto essere una variante della via originale, che dal diedro si sposta verso sx), non perdetevelo. A tal proposito fate attenzione alle numerose varianti... Concedetevi qualche pausa per godervi il panorama che vi circonda, sopratutto quando vi trovate a destra dello spigolo. Grazie alla comodità di accesso è una via molto frequentata.

dal mio diario:Questa importante via..ecc..ecc..diff.IV eIV+ con pass.di V . il tiro secondo me' piu' impegnativo:subito dopo la cengia sul camino verticale a sx dello spigolo 40 mt diIV e IV+ continuo. il traverso e' chiodato e non difficile.Comunque una bella e difficile via.
