Positano U' Piscione
This is the right-hand side of an immense amphitheatre which towers above the Montepertuso playing field. The crag gets its name from the spectacular waterfall which tumbles down after intense rain. Climbing potential is enormous and a series of 200m multi-pitch routes are waiting to be climbed. Piscione is similar to Cannabis and although there are fewer routes to date, each outing is worth double and each is unmissable! Watch out for 40m routes up tufas where pure stamina is the name of the game!
GETTING THERE
Reach Positano, circa 60km south of Naples, and continue up to Montepertuso. From the town square in Monte Pertuso take the road towards Nocelle for circa 400m, then break off left up the steps after a hairpin bend, CAI path markers. Reach a cableway box after the last houses and follow a path left which leads through the woods to the crag. 25 minutes.
THE CLIMBING
Overhanging tufa climbing.
