| Simone Moro, the thirty-three year old Italian mountaineer and The North Face Team member, is in the Himalayas once again and already acclimatising for the two 8000m peaks he hopes to climb between April and May. Cho Oyu is first on the agenda and, if all goes according to plans, will be followed by the all-important ascent of Everest. The Italian expedition, comprised of Simone Moro, Mario Curnis, Omar Oprandi, Enrico Stefani, Leonardo Moschetti, Franco Nicolini, Mirco Mezzanotte, Walter Sandro, and Ferruccio Vidi, is currently making good progress. They have established Camp 1 at 6400m and Moro has spent a night there before descending. Moro and Mario Curnis plan to climb Everest from the north after Cho Oyu.. Should Curnis reach the summit he will be the oldest to have climbed Everest. Good luck! more news about the expedition |
