Kilian Fischhuber repeating Action Directe, Frankenjura
Kilian Fischhuber has climbed Action Directe! The 23-year old Austrian sent the world's most famous 12-move route on Monday 25 September after working the route for 7 days, spread out over two trips from his native Innsbruck to Germany's Frankenjura. Prior to success the 2005 winner of the Bouldering World Cup commented "I was close to sending the line and I know it sounds funny, but all I needed was a bit more stamina to send the 12 moves without needing to rest. Success was just a matter of time." Action Directe was first ascended by the late Wolfgang Güllich on 14 September 1991 and has meanwhile settled in as the benchmark 9a. In its 15 year history the 45° line of one and two-finger pockets has been ascended just nine times. Action Directe (9a), Waldkopf, Frankenjura (GER) 1. Wolfgang Güllich (1991) - FA 2.
