Our spies had told us long in advance: watch out for the red-haired Austrian, this year he's unstoppable. And they were right! At Puurs in Belgium last weekend Jakob Schubert took gold for the fifth consecutive time, leaving all others the task of splitting the leftovers: which meant that Sachi Amma from Japan won silver, Ramón Julian Puigblanque returned to Spain with bronze. It's worth noting that Puigblanque is reigning World Champion and also the winner of the Lead World Cup 2011... which gives an indication as to how impressive Schubert's domination really is.

Talking of dominion. Had our spies travelled to Korea they would certainly have told us that Jain Kim is stronger than ever before. In Puurs she proved her point by winning yet again, beating Austrian Angela Eiter who is going from strength to strength after her stunning victory in the Arco World Championship earlier this year, and Mina Markovic, second and third respectively. The Slovenian was the woman to beat as she entered the competition 45 points ahead of Kim, but this lead has now whittled down to a mere 10 points.

The World Cup 2011 is comprised of another 5 competitions and the athletes have little time to recover as next stage takes place in Boulder, USA, this coming weekend.
