Talks had been in the running for a long time about whether to move the most important international summer OutDoor trade fair from Friedrichshafen to Munich. An offer had been made by the ISPO which clearly intended to create a single event in Germany by moving the summer fair from the shores of Lake Constance to the Bavarian capital.
The decision has now been taken: last Wednesday the European Outdoor Group (EOG) announced that it will continue to organise the OutDoor fair in Friedrichshafen until 2013.
The EOG, which represents 43 of the world’s largest outdoor companies, spent 18 months deciding whether to accept the Munich Trade Fair offer. The decision proved to be extremely difficult but in the end Friedrichshafen, which in 14 years has managed to create one of the world's most important trade fairs for all outdoor sports, was selected for the period 2009 -2013.
The next OutDoor will take place from 17 - 28 July 2008. In Friedrichshafen, of course.
