A beautiful route that climbs diagonally up Pedra Longa, also known as Agugliastra, the extraordianry sea stack close to Baunei. The fantastic ambient and the aggressive rock render this an unforgettable outing!
From Baunei reach the Pedra Longa car park.
AccessWalk down the steps to the sea, below the NW Face of the sea stack. Continue rightwards along the cliff to where the ledge ends. The route starts here, next to the huge mooring ring.

From the top of the route you can reach the summit on foot via an easy 50 meter scramble. From here you can follow the normal route down (II°) or on the arete on the N face lcoate a 30m abseil which avoids the downclimbing. From here continue easily get back to the steps (20 minutes). ATTENTION: IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DESCEND FROM THE ROUTE!
With the exception of the fourth belay (abseil ring), which with a 20 rappel leads to the juniper bush. Here a 60m abseil leads to the sea, to a narrow ledge. Follow this N easily at first, until it becomes more difficult. A 5c section leads past the arete and back to the base of the route. Obviously it is not possible with rough seas and if you fall you will end up in the sea... with your gear.
GearFully bolted climb with 12 mm Petzl stainless steel bolts on the first pitches. Bring 12 quickdraws, slings for belays. One 60m rope sufficient if you walk off from the summit.

Qualche appunto. Il primo tiro è più duro di 5b, direi 6a (forse si è rotta qualche presa?) Per la discesa ci sono diverse opzioni oltre alla normale a ritroso: 1. Doppia da 30 metri+10 metri disarrampicando la via normale (II). Soluzione da noi adottata. A noi si sono incastrate le doppie e ho dovuto risalire la normale per liberarle (anche qui II) 2. Doppia da 30 metri come sopra. Poi sulla sinistra (faccia a valle) c'è un albero con cordoni per un'altra doppia per evitare il tratto in arrampicata 3. Doppia da 20 metri (fino alla prima cengia che si trova), andare a sinistra (faccia a valle) per trovare un'altra sosta a spit e calarsi per altri 20 metri circa. La seconda doppia va oltre l'albero con cordoni del punto 2 e porta direttamente alla base. 4. Soluzione unica con doppia da 50/60. La sconsiglio data la facilità con cui si incagliano le corde. Personalmente consiglio la 1 tenendo presente che le corde si potrebbero incagliare.
