Route

Climbing this sunny ridge in the afternoon heat the heat with the crystal blue sea below makes every mouth water, as you think of that glass of cool beer that awauts you on your return to  Port Miou ... Saphir is all of this and more! The route was first ascended in 1939 by J. Bouisson, P. Guerin, M. Samuel and F. Soleil. It is one of the most popular outings, an ideal way back to the plateau after having climbed at En Vau all day. Unfortunately it is very polished. Protected by bolts, some friends may nevertheless be useful on the section by Petit Aguille.
Getting there
Drive or fly to Marseille. From Marseille take the D559 east towards Cassis. Access
From Cassis reach the Port Miou car park, park here and continue on foot along the dirt road down to the Port Pin Calanque. Take the green path that leads to Plateau della Gardiole and continue on to En Vau in circa 1 hour. Ascend quicklu ip to the col between Petit Aguille and L'Arete Saphir. Itinerary
