Predore
Predore is a beautiful crag located above Lago d'Iseo on the western shores. This famous crag faces south and is comprised of numerous different sectors with routes for everyone, from beginners to experts alike. These include Settore Centrale, Settore Aladino and Settore Azzurro, an immense panoramic balcony above the central sector ideal for sunny winter days. The grey, compact limestone has plenty of crimps and pockets.
GETTING THERE
Take the A4 motorway Milan - Venica, exit at Palazzolo sull'Oglio, continue past Sarnico up the western shore of Lake d'Iseo towards Lovere. Continue for circa 2km past Predore and park on the right close to a villa if you want to climb at the Sector Aladino. For Sector Centrale park on the right a bit further (just a few parking places, sign-posted for the crag). Reach the crag in just a few minutes. For Sector Azzurro, continue along the path where this breaks off right. From here, continue across a small bridge to join another path which rises up left to reach the terrace at the top.
THE CLIMBING
The crag is comprised of 7 sectors and most popular are Centrale (the easiest sector with circa 20 routes from 4a - 7b up to 20m high), Aladino (circa 20 routes from 6a+ - 8c, up to 25m high) and Azzurro. Also known as Alto, this panoramic sector holds the greatest potential, with 20 routes up to 30m high from 5c to projects still waiting to be freed.
