Wonder Ondra sends 8c+!

Adam Ondra from the Czech Republic has redpointed Alien Carnage 8c+ at Castillon, France.
Adam Ondra continues to set new standards for himself and for world youth climbing. On a winter holiday to Castillon, France, the 12-year-old from the Czech Republic recently sent Alien Carnage. The grade of the 40 move stamina fest? 8c+! Quite simply unbelievable!

Alien Carnage is Ondra'a first 8c+, but of late the child prodigy has amassed an incredible number of hard repeats and on-sights throughout Europe, including Mascherina 8c at Sperlonga, Italy. And his September 8b on-sight of "Neun Leben" in Germany's Frankenjura was so impressive it was recognised by the Czech Mountaineering Association as being "Ascent of the year 2005" men. For the record, Ondra was up against tough contendors: world champion Tomas Mrazek received "Ascent of the year 2005 with merit" for his 8c on-sight of Pata Negra at Rodellar, Spain.

Alien Carnage was first ascended by Christian Bindhammer in 1999 and has been repeated by a handful of top climbers, including Dai Koyamada, Yuji Hirayama, Severino Scassa and Cristian Brenna.
