Four months, three Italian repeats of Underground, the route located at Massone, Arco that is increasingly becoming one of the most sought-after and repeated 9a's in the world. After the repeat at the hands of Stefano Ghisolfi in July and that of Gabriele Moroni at the end of August, Silvio Reffo has now repeated this immense roof freed in 1998 by Manfred Stuffer. Other repeats worth remembering include that of Cristian Brenna in 2005 and, during the same days as Moroni, that of Slovenia's Domen Škofic.

"I tried it a couple of times a few summers ago without great results" recounts Reffo "this September I got back on it and immediately managed all the moves. After the rainy last few weeks I returned and, making the best use of good conditions and my form, I managed to finally send it on Saturday."

Underground is Reffo's sixth 9a, after L'attimo at Covolo, Era vella at Margalef, Estado Critico at Siurana, Biologica at Arco and obviously after his hardest climb to date, The ring of life, the 9a+ he freed at the start of 2014 at Covolo.
