Risiko variation to Mostro di Avers - Thron

First ascent: Leonardo Gheza, Matteo Rivadossi 10/02/2018
By: Matteo Rivadossi
Area: Central Alps, Group: Val d'Avers, Peak: Val d'Avers, Height: 1600 m, Country: Switzerland, Region: Grigioni

This variation climbs the lefthand drip and breaches the jutting roof. Curiously, during the first ascent a Swiss team comprised of Daniel Benz and Marcel Dettling happened to be in the same place at the same time. They chose a line which has a different start and finish. Gear: full ice climbing rack with some short screws.

GEAR

5 boltsx (8mm stainless steel) and a bolted belay (upper niche of lefthand Mostro). Those who repeat the route may find the belays on pitches 1 and 4 useful, equipped by the Swiss.
