Lovely descent of medium difficulty that is, however, sustained for about 800 metres.

ACCESSO

From Tolmezzo drive up to Cima Sappada on SS 355, then proceed and go beyond the village of Forni Avoltri. After crossing the bridge on Degano Stream, turn right to reach the hamlet of Pierabech, near Pian della Guerra.

ITINERARIO

Go down from Pian della Guerra and cross the Degano Stream, then go up through the woods and follow the forest trail towards Casera Bordaglia di Sotto. At approx 1400 m, follow the track that leads to Casera Ombladêt di Sotto (summer trail n.141). Go north-east up the slopes from the basin to the west base of Mount Volaia, heading for the small saddle to the right of the summit of the Southern Biegenköpfe and from the latter, follow the crest on the left that leads to the summit.

Descend along the line of ascent.
