    Val di Mello, Simone Pedeferri climbs new route on Scoglio della Metamorfosi

    In April 2015 Simone Pedeferri made the first ascent of "Io non ho paura" (225m, max 8b+, 7b obligatory) a new rock climb established together with Alberto Marazzi on Scoglio della Metamorfosi in Val di Mello. The route is dedicated to Luciano Barbieri.

    Matterhorn Cervino 150: 10 days of celebrations to mark the anniversary of the first two ascents

    In order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first two ascents of the Matterhorn, from 10 to 19 July 2015 at Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche, the Italian Region of Valle d'Aosta and the Municipality of Valtournenche invite everyone to take part in 10 days of climbing events, culture, sports, music and entertainment to celebrate the Cervino. The activities are open to all, free or at discount rates, registration obligatory by 3 July.

    From 10 to 19 July 2015, the Matterhorn, Valtournenche and Valle d'Aosta invite everyone to take part in the ten-day celebration of the 150th anniversary of the legendary first two ascents of the mountain. Mountaineering events and outdoor activities, mountain walks, theater, music, dance, cinema, theater and literature events have been organised to celebrate the great mountain , the epic achievements of its cavaliers Jean-Antoine Carrel and Edward Whymper, and all those who followed in their footsteps to make the Matterhorn and alpinism legendary.

    From 2 to 3 June 2015 Paolo Baroldi, Francesco Salvaterra and Alessio Tait made the first ascent of a new rock climb up the East Face of Monte Bianco di Presanella. The new route is called Il Male di Vivere (300m , 45° M 7a+ (VIII+) R3), has been described as “a difficult climb in a severe setting”, and crosses Gian Gian, the route put up in 1977 by Urbano Dell'Eva and Ivan Bertinotti.
