30 years after the first ascent, Maurizio Oviglia returns to "Anche gli eroi hanno paura - Even heroes feel fear" the route first ascended by Alessandro Cattaneo, Beppe Domenichelli, Mondo Liggi, Cecilia Marchi and Bruno Poddesuin in Sardinia's Sette Fratelli massif in 1983 and freed by Oviglia and Roberto Monchino in 1985. This is a pleasant way to remember (in perspective) how we were in the past and also look forward into the future.
5/05/2013. The last day of the 10th Melloblocco. 10 days of climbing and bouldering to reaffirm the indissoluble bond between Val Masino - Val di Mello and the Melloblockers. All 2,000 climbers have promised to return next year.
04/05/2013. 2000 climbers had registered on the penultimate day of Melloblocco and the number is expected to grow even further. Today everyone got some great climbing done beneath a gorgeous blue sky. Many problems were sent. Expectations are high now for tonight's big party which paves the way for tomorrow's grand finale.
While over 1300 Melloblockers have already registered and many more are expected, sunny Val Masino welcomed the initiative Climbing without limits promoted by the region of Lombardy, CIP, FASI, ERSAF which aims at a different form of taking to the mountains, for everyone. Paraclimbing athletes Silvia Parente, Simone Salvagnin and Giulia Poggioli, along with Antonio Rossi, Olympic gold canoeist and Councillor for Sport and Youth Policies for the Lombardy Region, took part in Melloblocco along with 70 other youngsters and not so youngs climbers who are either blind, visually impaired or disabled.
Sun, climbing and the best of the best during the seventh day of the 10th Melloblocco. More than 1100 climbers have now gathered in Val Masino - Val di Mello for the world's largest international climbing and bouldering meeting and many more are due to arrive this weekend. Expectations are high for the Paraclimbing athletes and Melloblocco will greet them with a great party.
