There are more than 150 sport climbs in the Peillon area and numerous small crags dotted along the entire mountain, but Paou Cave close to Argalasti is certainly the most popular at the moment as it combines excellent climbing and fantastic summer swimming.
GETTING THERE
Take the main road which leads from Volos to Argalasti (45km). Immediately after Argalasti turn off right at the first fork and follow signs for the Paou beach. Drive past the ancient church (fresh water). The crag is not visible form the road: continue for circa 6km and before reaching the beach turn off left onto the cement road. Park here and follow the obvious path to the crag.
FOOD AND ACCOMODATION
Accommodation in Argalasti. The Pelion area is a popular tourist destination and offers all types of accommodation, and wild camping is currently tolerated on the small beach.
