Arc'teryx Alpine Academy at Chamonix
The Arc'teryx Alpine Academy will take place from 13 - 15 June in Chamonix: a unique opportunity to learn more about climbing and alpinism directly on Mont Blanc.
In mid-June the small French town of Chamonix and the Mont Blanc slopes will host the Arc'teryx Alpine Academy 2014, a sort of meeting which for the third year running aims to be "a weekend of mountaineering education and inspiration." As the slogan implies, its all about learning more skills and techniques for climbing and mountaineering and about sharing the love for the mountains with others.
The Academy will take place from 13 - 15 June and there will be circa 20 different clinics and seminars run by mountain guides, athletes and other pros who, starting from the Aiguille du Midi cable ca , will set off to examine a series of different themes at altitude: alpine climbing, crevasse rescue, a bivy course, introduction to ice climbing, high altitude medicine, navigation and orienteering in the mountains and much more... there's even a workshop specifically for women, namely the Women's Glacier Tour.
