The following descents are described: 1 Col Pers 2 Col du Montets 3 Vallon de la Sache 4 Col de Premou |

| This is a classic and justifiably popular descent. Eventhough it is close to the lifts it feels isolated and the snow is often excellent. Orientation North, then East Best time of year December - May Difficulty Steep initially (40 °), then easier on the wide slopes below Length Ascent: 20m Descent: 1200m Getting there From Tignes Le Lac take the chairlift Palafour, then the chairlift Aiguille Percèe. Itinerary At the top of the lift there are two options: 1) walk up the slope in front of the lift to the summit (20m), then traverse leftwards (NE) to the top of the valley. Ski down to the first trees (at roughly 2000m) and then traverse rightwards to the black piste Sache which leads to Tignes les Brevieres. Do not be tempted by the inviting gully, as this continues straight down through the trees and finishes above a waterfall! 2) traverse leftwards immediately behind the Mountain Rescue hut. This may be difficult if rocks or grass show through the snow cover. Once the crest has been reached, either ski down the first gully (40° initially, then easier and wider), or continue traversing and descend one of the other, steeper gullies. All of these gullies lead to the main itinerary further below. photos by Mark Junak © |
