![]() Yes, its in Sardinia. Most climbers know this, but most climbers whove visited the island have never ventured further than Isili, the so-called Best of the Island. Perhaps its because of the long journey or the photos published everywhere of the magnificent emerald bays on the east coast, with the famous Guglia di Goloritze, the aptly named obelisk that towers high over the sea, but most climbers choose Cala Golone as their base before pushing further south to Isili. For although this doesnt offer fabulous beaches, the overhangs are great, but At this point time usually runs out, the ferry and possible seasickness await as does work, and so one departs, only to return next year to repeat this scenario once more. And so the Iglesiente with its thirty plus crags is snubbed completely, its beaches and west coast cliffs ignored, the easy mountain bike outings along the old mining roads not considered
