NewsLarcher frees Via Bepi Mazzotti on Dain
 On 2 October Rolando Larcher made the first free ascent of "Via Bepi Mazzotti" on the Piccolo Dain (Sarca valley, Italy). The route had been first ascended by Umberto Marampon in 1985 using various points of aid, which Larcher has now freed at 8a in a 6 hour push. Larcher had checked out the route in November 2005 briefly prior to the successful free ascent. Descent: from the top scramble left for 50m to the forest, then descend steeply via the path to Sarche, 1 hour. Gear: 1st half: full rack, kevlar, nuts and friends up to yellow Camalot , 18 quickdraws; 2nd half above hanging garden:nuts and quickdraws.
