Rolando Larcher, one of Italy's most active new routers, celebrated his 25th climbing year by making the first ascent of "25°" at Celva, close to Arco.
Larcher suggests solid 8c and acknowledges that although no longer cutting edge since 9a seems almost to be the order of the day, it is nevertheless "a particularly beautiful route which follows an original line: an arete above an arch, climbed by following a rightwards traversing line for about 30m, which overhangs roughly 20m. The best time of year to climb in Celva is from mid-autumn to mid-spring. Crisp sunny winter days offer perfect climbing conditions.
