|The news is nude and crude, but given its importance we've decided to publish it whilst waiting for more details to arrive: according to the German climbing magazine Klettern, Pietro dal Prà from Italy has carried out the first repeat of the historic "Unendliche Geschichte" 8b+, Rätikon, Switzerland. |
This "neverending story" was first climbed by Beat Kammerlander in 1990 and the 380 meters lay dormant for 15 years before finally being repeated. As is the norm for Kammerlander's creations, the line is demanding physically and above all psychologically. According to the Austrian first ascentionist Die Unendliche Geschichte is more difficult than another of his famous routes, Silbergeier 8b+, repeated by Dal Prà in 1999.
Silbergeier was in the limelight last week with Harald Berger's Trilogy triumph.
