Tomas Mrazek 9a redpoint and 8b+ onsights

Tomas Mrazek from the Czech Republic has redpointed Martin Krpan 9a, and onsighted Karisma 8b+ and Bastilija 8b+ at Misja Pec, Slovenia
If he continues at this rate, there won't be many routes left for Tomas Mrazek! After an astounding tour du force in Slovenia and Italy at the start of April, the Czech climber has demonstrated to all that he's on tremendous form.

It all started circa two weeks ago when the Czech climber paid a visit to Misja Pec in Slovenia, where he redpointed "Martin Krpan" 9a. This overhanging line traverses through the cave on the right hand side of the crag up two existing routes, Strelovod 8c and Konec Mira 8c+. This is Mrazek's third 9a after Underground 9a at Massone and Sanskij par at Misja Pec.

The current World Champion and winner of the World Cup 2004 then travelled west to Italy's Ceredo, where he onsighted, hold tight, Gelida, Ocean size, Indrospeed, Magnificat, L'eterno riposo, Apokatastasis, and Tornando a Itaca, all 8a+. before finishing off with Afrodisia 8b in the same manner.

Insatiable and unstoppable Mrazek then returned to Misja Pec where both Karisma 8b+ and Bastilija 8b+ succumbed straight off. There can be no doubt: Tomas is ready for the new competition season, which gets underway in Bulgaria's Veliko Tarnovo this weekend. He won't be an easy man to beat. But then again, competitions can have strange side effects...
