The Dolomites embrace human rights
On Sunday 13 September 2015 a gigantic human chain was formed beneath the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Dolomites, promoted by Amnesty International Italy to call for freedom, justice and peace.

More than 2500 people gathered the other day beneath the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the symbol of the Dolomites and also one of symbols of the First World War, that took place on these mountains 100 years ago. 2500 assembled to form a gigantic human chain demanding freedom, justice and peace, everywhere and for everyone.
The initiative was promoted by Amnesty International Italia to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the organization in Italy, by Art for Amnesty and Insieme si può. Even if the main aim - of forming a chain around the entire Tre Cime - wasn’t reached - the event came ahead of this week's emergency EU meetings about the refugee crisis affecting Europe and it certainly left its mark.
