How can one share a vision? Riccarda de Eccher, the alpinist and artist, born in Bolzano but by adoption from Udine in NE Italy, dreams and sees Mount Pelmo, one of the most beautiful peaks of "her" Dolomites. In this video filmed in her studio at Long Island, New York, the vision "takes form" in a watercolor painting. This method is one the most difficult of all where – they say – making mistakes is strictly prohibited. Almost like in alpinism. Each mark remains. Every drop is there for a reason. Everything is marked by a degree of lightness, almost impalpable, just touched upon. Like a dream. Or like those mountains that tinge in hues of purple and fiery orange at every sunset. Like Monte Pelmo. Like those mountains that return and that – many of us - carry within. The soul.
